Coffees’ export in Viet Nam
Viet Nam is the nation famous for coffee, especially Tay Nguyen, such as Lam Dong, Dak Lak, Kon Tum, Gia Lai,…Each region has its own unique natural conditions, so there is a strong point in coffee. Example, Dak Lak is famous for Robusta, Lam Dong is famous for Arabica.

Today, in Viet Nam, there are 2 major coffee: Arabica and Robusta. These are products which export important in Viet Nam.
Robuste Coffee is the second most important coffee species. About 39% of coffee products are produced from this type of coffee. The world’s largest exporter of Robusta coffee is Viet Nam. Other important exporters include: Uganda, Brazil, India.
In Vietnam, the provinces of Dakak, Gia Lai, Kom Tum are specialized areas of Robusta coffee. Robusta contains higher levels of caffeine and has an impure aroma of Arabica, thus being underestimated.
Robusta coffee tree is a tree or shrub, the height of mature trees can be up to 10 m. The coffee beans are round, smaller than the Arabica beans. The caffeine in Robusta coffee is about 2-4%, while Arabica coffee is only 1-2%.
Like Arabica coffee, 3-4 years old coffee can start harvesting. They give seeds from 20 to 30 years. They prefer to live in the tropics, with an elevation of less than 1000 m. The preferred temperature is 24-29 ° C, rainfall is over 1000 mm. Coffee plantations need more sunlight than tea trees.

There are two varieties in Viet Nam: Moka and Catimor. This coffee is grown mainly in Cau Dat ( Da Lat) – the best place to grow Arabica coffee in Viet Nam.
Moka has fragrant, chewy, light taste. Moka is a coffee belong to Arabica genus. They are grown in Da Lat by French in the 30s of last century. This is specie which is difficult to grow the best, be required take care very carefully. Moka only grow and develop in 1500 height, very few places to grow. So, Moka in Viet Nam is rare coffee, has high prices than different coffee.
